John A. Adams built two barns at Cedarcroft. They are unusual for this area because few people built what is known as bank barns. | ![]() |
The barns are still in use - one as storage and the other as the home of our four horses (see Sandra's Horsey Pages). We're working at restoration and stabilization on the barns, since they've been in constant use since the 1870s.
Guests love to visit the horses in the east Barn - and get buzzed by the barn swallows that summer under the loft. This was originally the cattle barn; you can see the remains of an old silo.
